for everyone
Hey, found this through a Trekweb link. Hm. An interesting take on Joker by Heath Ledger. Unique and quite his own, of course, but I think if you look closely enough you'll note influences (albeit very small ones) from the old Joker portrayals by Jack Nicholas, Cesar Romero, and Mark Hammil. Liutenant (?) Gordon is once again portrayed very well, and it's nice to see Maggie Gyllenhaal has taken over the old Katie Holmes role. I can't comment much on Christian Bale's Batman here, though. Most of his scenes here seem to be action sequences. And I really don't like this look for Gotham City. It looks more like my image of Clark Kent's Metropolis playground than Bruce Wayne's beloved Gotham cesspool. But if Cristopher Nolan's work here is anywhere near the quality of Batman Begins, we'll be in for another good ride through the streets of Gotham. Fingers crossed.

* This is definitely HEATH LEDGER'S / THE JOKER'S trailer. While he reminds me of the Crow and looks like the offspring of Delirium and Jack Nicholson's Joker, I must say I do like it--it's a fresh take on Joker (cinema/tv) and it's very close to the Joker in my beloved Arkham Asylum.

* Maggie Gyllenhaal I will take over Katie as Rachel ANY DAY. She's got the superior acting chops (minus the Scientology tent?)--anyone see her in "Secretary" with James Spader?

* Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Gary Oldman. More wonderful men reprising their roles.

* Christian Bale - of the men who don't smile, this one is the hands down yummiest. Seems to be a suking actor na for Chris Nolan. But I do enjoy these suking actor director tandems--Nolan Bale, Scorsese DiCaprio (used to be DeNiro) and of course, Burton Depp. Speaking of Burton, I think I loved his Gotham vision the best. And Michelle Pfeiffer is my Catwoman.

* The Batmobile - every time I see it, I want to drive it.

Thanks for posting this trailer. First time I've seen it! Excited. When's the release? Saan na yung pila sa ticket? Maligayang Pasko Rem!

Christian Bale ---> Wasn't he just epically good in "Empire of the Sun>/b>"? Even then, he didn't smile.

Maggie Gyllenhaal ---> HOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nuff said.

Heath Ledger ---> Please tell me someone else sees the Cesar Romero-ish elements? (Cesar Romero was Adam West's Joker) Or the Mark Hammil-ish edge to the voice? (Luke Skywalker voiced Joker in Batman The Animated Series)

I do..I do...maybe its that high pitched laugh/sneer that reminds u of a smiling Romero and a maniacal Hammil. And when I first found out that he did it (animated joker), he proved that he does have the Dark side in him after all. :)

Great casting calls.

And it's cool how no one minds that one of the leads (Holmes)was replaced. Something hardly ever done mid-trilogy / film series.

Would love to read an article or watch an interview with Heath Ledger talking about how he put together the Joker along with Nolan and the costumer designer, make up artist and voice coach. Should be interesting.

Have you seen Chris Bale in Equilibrium?

I kinda liked Katie back in her earliest Dawson's creek days, and I liked her in Go. But as time went on, she got really tiresome. I'm not sure why. I'm sure it wasn't the looks factor. Maggie, on the other hand... wow. :-D Hm. I wish Rachel Leigh Cook would come back and play a supervillain. She seems well suited for the role...

Hahaha! Well, i guess we never got to talking about it. hehe. I have a lot of family members who influenced me to like a lot of things as i was growing up. You know some of them already. Haha! :)

I did love Katie too back in her creekside days. We even had a local version of it in our highschool. I was joey. wehehehe!
