Blog EntryOn Graduating to the "Real" worldApr 10, '08 1:17 PM
for everyone
For comments from the rest of you, here's somethng I posted on a new graduate's blog.I just thought it would be nice to keep a record of it here, and for everybody to be able to add their comments, whether agreeing or disagreeing.

My reply:

If it helps, you might want to remember that the whole "real world" thingy is a lie. The time you spent learning in school and the time you spent learning at work are equally valid, with the difference being in texture, not in validity.

So I've got a two-pronged suggestion.
Don't stop learning just because you're no longer in College.
and
Don't ever let people believe that the person you were in College was less valid than the person who will be working.

In the end, WHERE you are doesn't matter. Even who you THINK you are doesn't matter.

It's about who God says you are. And that discovery is what life is all about. Stay true to the act of trying to find yourself in God, and life will always be real.

Hi sir rem ^^ if i may comment... (need to stay awake badly haha)

I agree that ultimately as Christians it will (should) always boil down to the walk of faith, but there's a major shift of what is expected of you from school to work, hence the general big deal of graduating into the "real" world. And that the "where" is a big factor of what God uses to hone and teach, thus its impact on the growth of anyone's concept of what is real.

it's so nice. sobrang simple pero sapol kung sapol.. parang ang thinking kasi usually e college lang yon and the real thing is went you get out of it. but come to think of it, you wouldn't be where you are if you didn't survive the challenges in college... :)

graduating to the 'real world' is such an overrated event. of course it's the same person. :) a person doesn't need to come to the point of graduating from college before realizing it's a 'real world'. it's always been 'real'. if you know that whatever you do now translates to a consequence that alters your life every time, then you live in your 'real world' as just you (without the perceived collge-you or adult-you).
